    Cat In The Hat Learning Series

    , Harrisburg
    Join a Naturalist for a fun interactive story session for children ages 3-5. Stories, rhymes, and a craft/activity will introduce science through the eyes of the Cat In The Hat. Classes are offered during 3 consecutive Wednesdays. This program is sponsored by Altrusa of South Central PA, providing a book for each participant. Each participant will go home with a theme-related book. Pre-registration required.
  • Wreath made from natural materials

    Spring Wreath Workshop

    , Harrisburg
    Decorate a spring wreath out of natural materials. Everything will be supplied to make a wreath with decorations from nature, including cones, nuts, and seed pods. Select from a variety of wreath bases including grape vines and wire frames. Participants may bring additional items and ribbon. After constructing a wreath, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while adding finishing touches. Space is limited.

    Bird Walk: Waterfowl and Early Spring Migrants – Park Rx

    Meet Rick and Peggy Price in the South Parking Lot at the entrance to the Towpath Trail for this early migration bird walk. Expect a good diversity of waterfowl, some early songbird migrants, and a few lingering winter species.

    Back in Action: Conquer Your Back Pain Workshop – Park Rx

    Are you experiencing back pain while standing, walking, or sitting for long periods of time? Do you experience pain, numbness, or tingling that goes down your leg? Join Dr. Brett Morrison from Madden and Gilbert Physical Therapy on Wednesday, March 19th from 5:30-6:30 pm for a back pain and sciatica workshop. At the workshop, you will learn the top 3 causes of back pain and sciatica, the biggest mistake back pain sufferers make, and what successful treatment looks like without the side effects of unnecessary medications, injections, or surgeries

    Weekly Wellness Walks

    Enjoy a moderately-paced walk around Wildwood Lake while enjoying the trees and animals at the park. This will be a walk on paved, gravel, and dirt surfaces. You can choose to walk only a portion, then turn around at any point if you would like to customize the length of your walk to your individual fitness goals.

    Art Heals: Bluebird Planter Workshop

    Join us for a relaxing planter workshop! The bluebird bowl is 8" W x 2" H. Participants will assemble the nest and plant the garden. Everything shown in the picture is included in the workshop.

    Introduction to Birding

    Join Rick and Peggy Price for an introductory course on birdwatching. Learn the basics with an indoor PowerPoint presentation followed by a short walk outdoors on the Delta Boardwalk to practice using binoculars and identifying bird calls. This program is geared for participants 16 years or older.
