    Proudly PA! Festival

    Enjoy a beautiful day along the Susquehanna River and celebrate all that Pennsylvania has to offer sponsored by M&T Bank. The day will be filled with music performed by several amazing bands who got their start right here in Pennsylvania. There will be an abundance of tempting tastes and treats. Savor locally sourced foods from some fabulous vendors and food trucks that will be available for purchase while enjoying the upbeat sounds of top-notch musicians here at scenic Fort Hunter Park. Wine, Craft Beer, and Distilled Spirits will be available to taste and for purchase showcasing some of the best products from across the state. Sip your favorites as you also enjoy a fine gathering of craft vendors with unique items for every style. Each guest will receive a Proudly PA! souvenir glass at the event.     Little Sprouts (Ages 4-5)

    , Harrisburg
    Sprouts ages 4 and 5 will discover nature through hands-on activities. Spend the day exploring the outdoors through discovery and sensory walks, stories, crafts and much more. Learn about the different plants and animals that call Wildwood Park home. Chaperones are not required to stay with their sprouts. Registration limited to 15 campers.   Registration will open Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 6:00 AM.

    Wiconisco Creek Park Summer Camp

    Reserve your spot for a fun summer camp experience for kids 7-10 years of age! They'll spend 2 days outside exploring Wiconisco Creek Park with many interesting hands-on activities. Pre-registration is required, space is limited.

    Sunset Music & Movie Series – Central PA Blues Society presents Lowry Blues Band

    Join us for a FREE concert at Fort Hunter Park - Central PA Blues Society presents Lowry Blues Band! Pack a picnic basket (or purchase from our food concessions), bring your blankets and your lawn chairs, and enjoy an evening of family fun! In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be made around lunchtime on Friday whether the movie will proceed. If necessary, the rain date would be Sunday, June 22, 2025

    Junior Naturalist Day Camp Week 1 (Ages 9-11)

    , Harrisburg
    Junior Naturalists ages 9 to 11 interested in the flora and fauna of Wildwood Park will spend the week learning about species identification and natural history. Topics explored include life beneath the water, mammal skulls, amphibians, reptiles, trees and fungi. Discover new habitats while visiting Detweiler Park and enjoy a live animal presentation. Various activities such as hiking, journaling/sketching, and specimen collection will also be included. Please register for only one week; activities and topics will be repeated. Registrationis limited to 20 campers.

    Sunset Music & Movie Series – Wicked

    Enjoy a movie night outdoors under the stars at Fort Hunter Park. The whole family is sure to love Wicked! The Friends of Fort Hunter will operate a concession stand with movie snacks and drinks. Pack a picnic basket (or purchase from our food concessions), bring your blankets and your lawn chairs, and enjoy an evening of family fun! In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be made around lunchtime on Friday whether the movie will proceed. If necessary, the rain date would be Sunday, June 29 at 8:30 pm.

    Join us for a FREE concert at Fort Hunter Park featuring The Greater Harrisburg Concert Band! Dauphin County Parks & Recreation is excited to offer a summer of fun events for the whole family with our Sunset Music & Movie Series! Each week will highlight local performing arts organizations or an outdoor movie every Friday night from June - August. Pack a picnic basket (or purchase from our food concessions), bring your blankets and your lawn chairs, and enjoy an evening of family fun! In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be made around lunchtime on Friday whether the movie will proceed. If necessary, the rain date would be Sunday, July 6, 2025.

    Walk with a Doc – Park Rx

    Join us for a 2.5-mile walk meeting up at Penbrook Community Park and walking on the Greenbelt's Paxtang Parkway. The Walk With A Doc program is designed to provide some general health information and a moderately-paced walk. This is a FREE walk, but we ask that you pre-register. A Park Rx wellness program sponsored by Highmark Blue Shield and supported by Penn State Health with program coordination between Penbrook Parks & Recreation, Susquehanna Township Parks and Recreation, Capital Area Greenbelt Association, and Dauphin County Parks & Recreation.
