2025 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP)

 
****THIS PROGRAM IS A ONE-TIME BENEFIT DURING THE PROGRAM YEAR****
 
The SFMNP vouchers will NOT be distributed in person at the Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging or senior centers, or any mass distribution sites.  The SFMNP vouchers can only be obtained by completing a short Application and mailing (or emailing) it to the Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging. The Application is available on Dauphin County’s website (www.dauphincounty.gov) or it can be obtained by calling the Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging at 717-780-6209.
 
 
            The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and the Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging have again partnered to make the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program available to Dauphin County residents age 60 years or older (or will turn 60 by December 31, 2025).
 

SFMNP-eligible food is defined as “grown or able to be grown in Pennsylvania.” Vouchers are not accepted for the following: 

  • Fruit :Apples Berries, Grapes, Melons, Pears, Apricots, Cherries, Nectarines, Plums, Peaches
  • Vegetables : Artichokes, Cauliflower, Leeks, Parsnips, Tomatoes, Asparagus, Celery, Lettuce, Onions, Turnips, Beans (fresh), Corn, Mushrooms, Radishes, Winter Squash, Beets, Cucumbers, Peppers, Rhubarb, Yams (grown in PA), Broccoli, Eggplant, Potatoes, Rutabagas, Zucchini, Brussels, sprouts, Greens, Peas, Spinach, Microgreens, Cabbage, Kohlrabi, Okra, Sweet Potatoes, Fresh Garlic
  
 
SFMNP vouchers are not accepted for processed food, e.g., jams, honey, nuts, cider, or baked goods. SFMNP vouchers cannot be used at grocery stores or supermarkets.
 
 
Eligible Dauphin County seniors will receive five (5) vouchers worth $5.00 a piece for a total value of $25.00. Clients will not receive change if the SFMNP purchase does not total $5.00. They may be offered additional SFMNP-eligible food to make the purchase an even $5.00.
 
 
To be eligible, Dauphin County residents age 60 and older must have an annual income at or below $28,953 for 1 person in the household or $39,128 for 2 people in the household.
 
The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program does not include seniors who are living in nursing home facilities, convents, and residential facilities where meals are provided.
 
 

Once a completed Application is received, the vouchers will be mailed to the Applicant’s address provided on the Application.
